Overall Purpose: To help develop and oversee the Alcoholism Center For Women’s Trauma/ Domestic Violence program, develop linkages to needed community resources including legal clinics and provide individual and group therapy to residential and outpatient clients.
Duties and Responsibilities: Work with the Executive Director to develop ACW’s first Trauma/Domestic Violence program. Develop resource guide and connections to and with community resources who assist and service those who are domestic violence, prostitutes and/or human trafficking survivors. Establish connections to and with legal clinics who cater to this specific target population. Develop and utilize a screener to assess clients’ trauma and determine which clients need therapy and/or other services. Facilitate therapeutic groups. Document individual and group sessions in SAGE.
Relationships/Contacts: Reports to Executive Director. Maintains linkages with and makes presentations to other social services, public entitlement community based agencies. Performs patient advocacy and outreach functions.
Additional Dimensions: Working knowledge of substance abuse treatment and recovery, women services, trauma informed services and working with evidence based curriculum. Knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of diverse women in treatment. Experience working with diverse populations, such as homeless women, women of color, battering and incest survivors. Sensitivity to women of diverse orientation. Ability to work in a community-based setting which utilizes a team approach and ability to work with electronic health records. Three years (3) years’ experience in group facilitation and individual counseling. Five (5) years’ supervisory/management experience. Must be reliable, prompt, and flexible.
Qualification Requirements: Masters’ Degree and License in Social Work, Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology or related field plus 10 years’ therapy. Experience with similar populations and nonprofits a plus. Computer literate. Strong oral and written communications skills. Must own reliable transportation and process valid California driver’s license, as well as current automobile insurance. If recovering from substance abuse, must have minimum of five (5) years clean and sober. Need not to be recovery to apply. English/Spanish speaking are encouraged to apply.
